Danae: Hey... You told me you can't do anything magical! Lars: It's not magic... It's technology. It's good to go, Jeffrey. Jeffrey: Thanks, Lars. Danae: How'd they get so much more advanced if his planet is a twin with Earth? Jeffrey: 'Cuz they lucked out and avoided extinction. Danae: You mean he's a dinosaur?! Jeffrey: Sort of... But advanced beings are pacifists. Lars: Well... I do get a strange urge to stomp on Tokyo whenever I come here...

Lars is Godzilla? (The cool 1960’s version not the crappy one starring Mr. Sarah Jessica Parker)
madKanga almost 15 years ago
No, we are the dinosaurs. Time we grew up.
ejcapulet almost 15 years ago
Does that mean he has nuclear breath, too?
prasrinivara almost 15 years ago
Same way (as per John Norman explanation) that Earth got much more advanced technologically (in weapons-area anyway, but not medicines) than Gor, Danae!

A more advance society of pacifists - do women rule Mars 4.0? Is Lars a female?
Wiley creator almost 15 years ago
“do women rule Mars 4.0?”
No… you see, Mars 4.0 is the lifeless planet we know. Mars 3.5 is the one we didn’t know about… until now!

Danae just went from being in awe and love to being crushed. So sad, when your lovely dreams are punctured by reality. Like when the Princess kisses the Prince and he turns into a frog. Or maybe Lars?
yyyguy almost 15 years ago
more like when the princess kisses the frog and he stays a frog and she gets a wart. (and, yes, i know that doesn’t happen. i’m just riffing on a stereotype.)

The Earth’s reptilian species might succeed us yet. Maybe they already have!
bmonk almost 15 years ago
Why not? Paleontologists say that the early reptilian world was more the ancestors of modern mammals, then the dinosaurs (avian ancestors) took over, and then mammals again. Maybe it’s the reptile/avians’ turn again…

@prasrinivara Your assuming that they reached a state of perfection and see no need for further evolutionary change? Now, they’ve come to Earth to reinvigorate their DNA - sort of a Mars Needs Women (1967) plot.

Returning to his roots.
