The definition of insanity: to expect the alt right faction of the repubbas to agree to any sort of compromise even if a government shutdown would be devastating to their constituents. Expecting any intelligent dialogue from idiotic thugs like Gaetz and his crew is also insanity, they have proven through their agenda that they only are concerned with expanding their power base and lining the pockets of their 1%er benefactors. I would say vote them out of office but as most of them (except for that one in CO, Boebert) are in very deep red districts, they are unlikely to get voted out of office and it is wishful thinking that they will face legal consequences such as Gaetz who should have been locked up by now for numerous crimes including sex trafficking.
God forbid the Republicans want spending levels to return to the level we had 2 years ago. Oh my. The horrors of trying to be responsible for taxpayer money. And a secure border. OMG. s/
Why the American public tolerates the irrational self-destructive belligerent behavior of the Freedom [to cause chaos] Caucus is a mystery to anyone who loves their republic and wants to see it grow and thrive efficiently and effectively.
No to worry America! Your benefactors at the DC Swamp are going to bless your holiday season with…….a continuing resolution! Next time they’ll come up with a balanced budget…….yeah……next time……
If 1/2 of the government employes in DC were let go would anyone notice? Do we really need all those assistant assistant deputy under-secretaries for the deputy under-secretaries?
Well if we’ve learned anything from this last sorry episode it’s that republicans can’t govern and need the help of Democrats to get anything done. Their sizable core of hardliners in the republican party will not compromise – ever – and will punish those who do. Now Speaker Johnson has to watch his back from the likes of Matt Gaetz and MJ Greene.
Next year, the Democrats will be defending 23 Senate seats and the GOP will be defending 10. Recently, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced that he wouldn’t be seeking reelection for his Senate seat. This just means we need to campaign strongly for the remaining Democrats running for reelection, and see if we can pick off any GOP seats in the chamber. If we’re able to keep the White House and Senate, it’s a safe bet that Justices Thomas and/or Alito will either fall ill or retire and we can appoint new Justices and rebalance the SCOTUS. I know the Presidential election will be the main event, but we should also pay attention to the Congressional races as well.
The Statue of Freedom is no doubt upset by the semi-intelligent primates now in control of Congress. You know, the ones that have stolen and defiled the name Freedom in every twisted way imaginable
Warren Buffett lives on his interest not on his income which is like a dollar a year so he pays less taxes in a secretary who has to pay on her income cuz she doesn’t have a couple billion , instead of an income tax they should have a wealth tax
