Today’s Spud thing makes me think of “Do the Right Thing.” Specifically, the opening song/dance in Spike Lee’s 1989 film. We’ve also got our Rose and Spike had his Rosie [Perez]. Spud’s lyrics and dance and Wallace’s beat box routine and Rose’s critique sent me down this stream of consciousness… which term I prefer over “rabbit hole”.
If you’ve never seen the movie… you should. Watch the clip of that opening scene on YouTube. That ought to put you in the mood to seek out the whole film.
All the praise, I hope some of you are spending some $$$ and buying Will Henry’s Wallace the Brave books. Let’s keep this guy in business folks! They’re more than just reprints of old comics, he puts a lot of neat stuff in you don’t see here.
