    Good morning™, car counters !

Maybe it’s just me but are there any other of the cars that did the same ‘maneuver’ ?  What’s wrong about a car coming and going ?

Neil must have fallen asleep rereading the past 4 weeks of the strip. He’ll join us with his cheerful daily Tracy posts when he wakes up from his Tracy induced slumber!

I suppose as Caprice goes through the exit, Tracy and Sam will see the license plate. Probably one of those pre-Y2K models.

First car I ever drove was a 68 Caprice with a 327" engine, Four Barrel Carbuerator and dual exhaust.

    Good morning™, all!

I just got distracted, but I’m here. Is that old Caprice the one that Madsen had parked indoors in the July 28 strip? https://www.gocomics.com/dicktracy/2023/07/28

It’s nice to actually SEE tracy doing detective work, but my GOD this thing is drawn out already…you can tell it’s not Mike doing the writing because it’s got a definite flow and it’s not choppy (and almost EVERYTHING is “happening on panel”) but theres just too much crammed in, then spread out over too many weeks to be interesting. While Mike’s stories are a jumbled incoherent mess spread out over several weeks, this one is a more detailed story but spread too far

I assume this has to do with Madsen, though why he’d return to the Argos plant when he has no known connection with the company (and in that this is where he’s undergone a paranoia-inducing experience) is bewildering. Then again, it’s possible the other writer decided that the rot at the company went beyond Anders.

Please tell me the current boss there isn’t behind all this. That’s all to convoluted.

Me,I’m admiring the art—-that must have taken a long time to draw. And middle panel—-two determined cops.

Meanwhile,at the OTHER gate; a hollowed out gas truck is waved on through.

I admit this has really got me confused. 5 cars came in. Five cars out. The Caprice came in. What are they tryin to tell us here?

I once was in a parking lot, and saw, at the Exit gate, a sign that read: Do Not Enter. Entrance Only. Now, obviously, I knew what they meant, but that sign sure could have been worded better. Perhaps the same sort of thing is happening in today’s dialog?

All right. So you’ve narrowed down the car. Now, shaddap and go get him! Watching grass grow has become more entertaining than this.

1-DT: Erm, what’s this movie called again? SAM: It’s not a movie, dummy. We’re picking out our next unmarked vehicle from these options.

2-DT: Oh. Yeah. I kinda like that burnt orange one there. Reminds me of the car I first scored in. It counts even if I was flying solo – right? SAM: No and also – you sure it wasn’t in a Model T Ford?

3-DT: Yeah, probably. Anyway, I want that one. It reminds me of the car we took on Sunday drives when I was a kid. SAM: Are you sure that wasn’t in a horse and buggy?

    DT: Yeah, probably.

The point of this may be that one car is leaving very soon after it came in at the time of the shooting—-hence,it’s the shooter making a getaway

Reviewing surveillance video of the Argos Inc. employee parking lot with the tech help of Riger, Tracy points out to Sam the suspicious vehicle that came in and went out again in a brief period bracketing the time of the shooting. The old Caprice should now become the subject of a BOLO.

We are seeing legitimate police work and detection and making some progress in advancing the plot. All in all, a good day here….
