No need to get multiples of numbers to hang up, 1-9 should cover it.

My nextdoor neighbor’s wife and daughter left the Allen Mall about 5 minutes before. I may move back to Vietnam where I spent a year 67-68, where the death rate for Americans over a decade was about one quarter the death rate from guns in the US in the first third of 2023.

Ever wonder why every mass shooting does not hit the national news cycle? Yet they do happen most ever day.

It’s the criteria. Some incidents are not worthy of coverage if it does not fit the narrative of the left. Last night’s mass shooting between 2 gangs in Chicago? Never heard about that one did you.

How about the motive and manifesto behind the trans shooter in TN? How long before we find out that motive so we might be able to prevent the next incident?

    Sorry, info not worthy.

Looks like we’ll have to start counting the minutes instead. Or, at least count how long after the local gun shop opens.

Remember during the tough part of covid and all of the anti Vax nonsense when 500 people a day were dying. I started to wonder if people would change their minds if they knew 450 were Republicans and only 50 were Democrat’s.

I have to belive that with each mass shooting 10,000 Republicans realize that their partys all in attitude towards guns is also nonsense.

    I have to belive that!

Not sure that the majority understands that not everyone was given — by god, or the voices in their heads — the right to rule with an authoritarian weapon-filled hand as QAnon’s special cult has.

More mass shootings than calendar days in 2023. Rethuglicon pols, though, are offering thoughts and prayers that their contributions from the NRA and other groujps of that ilk continue while they fight for the rights of U.S. citizens to own weapons of war.

To make it seem not quite as bad, instead of “Days” maybe we should measure by hours or minutes. Such a practical solution would make the conservatives swell with pride at a job well-done. /s

Political cartoons for the most part make me think. Some make me laugh, some cry. Some a combination of those things. This is the first in a long time to also make me hurt. (There is a reason Mr Bennett has one of those Pulitzer thingies)

According to a front page story in the May 9 edition of the Tulsa World, 14,000 people have died from all forms of gun violence since Jan 1 2023

I am starting to question the word “weapon”. Isn’t a weapon something that is used in combat? I would hardly call these events at malls, schools, worship centers combat. Does a butcher call his cleaver a weapon? The animal is hardly ever in a position to fight back. Looking for an alternative designation to “weapon”. I’ll toss out “deadly assault tool”, but I’m sure you all can do better than that.

Obviously that “well regulated militia” thing needs a bit of work on the regulated part. Just a guess.. but allowing every Tom Dick and Jane membership, just might be a problem.

After the latest mass shooting in Texas, the Governor said he wouldn’t talk about how easy it is to get assault-style weapons. Instead, he said these murders are a mental health issue.

    One small problem, though,

Within eight days of taking office, trump signed Republican legislation to allow the mentally ill to buy guns, including AR-15s.

“H.J.R. 40: On February 28, Trump signed a bill that repeals an Obama-era rule that prohibited the mentally disabled from being able to purchase firearms. Obama signed the executive action, which mandated that the Social Security Administration submit names of mentally ill individuals to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System following the San Bernardino terrorist attack in 2015.”

The bill was championed by the entire Texas Republican delegation to the Senate and Congress. Republicans feel absolutely no shame when they lie, straight to your face.

There have been 200, count ‘em folks, mass shootings this year and heck it ain’t even half gone, mass shootings in this gun crazed country are hardly news worthy, does not seem a purpose to mention it, country is in decline, not surprising after the children of Sandy Hook were sacrificed and nothing was done.
