Ah, the old “bomb fuse looks like a worm so a chicken grabbed it after fooling the readers into thinking that her football training would somehow enter it but then it really didn’t” trick. Whew.

    Good morning™, everyone!

Do you remember when the chicken was pulling at Tracy’s shoelaces and eyeing the electrical cords plugged into the power strips? You might have wondered why this behaviour of Chick Tracy II was shown, but that is what she is doing with the bomb, also.

If that thing IS loaded with C-4 it should blast most of that building into rubble….and everyone nearby right along with it.

WLS was crazy in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

Some of those guys were right outa town. Forget the tunes you always got a thrill when the guy would come on with some wacky rap and some could even talk at light speed and be understood. Speaking really fast is a talent all its own. Jason Alexander (George Can’t stand ya) was in top vocal form on the Duckman series.

    Good morning™, Time’s Up !!!

Looks like Chicky is on the one way express to the afterlife. Chick’s face has the best playful expression. Shelley done great on this. She is indeed a master of faces. :-)

So Chickie-Babe is going to save the day by (implausibly) separating the timing fuse from the C4?

    If Chick could speak

    Through her skilled beak

I know what she would say

“Not here to be your fricassee

Just here to save the day.”

Looks like a game bomb to me.

Whatever, Tracy is so impressed that he gives the chicken Sam’s job.Sam is reduced to scraping up the leavings off the deli floor and living in a cardboard box.

On the plus side, the chicken makes dynamite office coffee. Yet another amazing trick effortlessly mastered

He then becomes Yeti’s latest inept henchman. Yeti sees the writing on the wall (working around the misspelled bits) and, after that hastily hushed-up incident in Muncie, turns him self in.

Chicken drinks his super sauce and throws the bad guys for a loss and no longer are they alive and kickin’. There is one thing you should learn , when there is no one else to turn to , call for Super Chicken .

ridiculous… this strip has reached a new low when it’s the chicken who saves the day… this IS the last straw… a change needs to be made, and you KNOW what and WHO I mean… this is NOT what I come to Dick Tracy to read…

Did the chicken defuse the bomb OR somehow activate it?(Itwasn’t making any noise until today)?

Gameboy in Panel 3 looks downright suicidal;hey,if I’m caught I’m going out in a blaze of glory.Or will it just be confetti?

OT: Got a cover scan today of a one-shot test comic book I ‘tribbed the concept outline and first issue script for. Looks good (but then I also gave them the AI image they used for the cover in order that the artist had an idea of what I’d worked up for the mech). Of course I won’t get extra for that.

I did get the $50 up-front, but I have a sneaking suspicion I won’t see the rest. I have the same vibes I got with MARIONETTTE, another ultra-indie project I scripted this year. Never a good thing when you don’t get formal contract. Still,I can use the money right now. Large outlays with the cars.

Forgit to tell y’all that on April 30th it’s official…“Mick and Keith have left the building”

Two…I don’t want to call them “stones” since meteorites seems more apropos…very large kidney stones were passed…and I managed to catch them as well… put them into a sterile cup that the dr gave me months ago, then dropped them off that Wednesday…the receptionist kinda scrunched her face when she saw them and said “wow, those are pretty big stones” and I just looked at her and said “yeah, try passing them”

They were sending them out to be examined so I probably wont hear anything about it until my next appointment sometime in june

Chaos and confusion! Run! Scatter! Where? Hither and yon! Who runs? We run (all eight separate characters in today’s strip, or nine if you count the chicken, too—Brad’s grandpa and grandma [if that is who the elderly two are], plus that supernumerary Bystander or Stagehand in panel 1; B.O. and Klinique Plenty in panel 2; Sam [he’s back!], Gameboy, and Tracy in panel 3; and, all in her own glory, Chick Tracy II in panel 4)!

Has Smartchick activated the fuse or defused the whirring bomb?

Tomorrow should tell the story of the glory or the gory of The Little Chicken Who Could. Sunday, wrap-up/clean-up?…
