It is all about balance, and adapting with new infrastructure to support an American future of low cost abundant energy that does the least amount of harm to our people, land and global climate. This cartoon infers a complete lack of foresight and flexibility. Yes, we will still need a hydrocarbon based fuel infrastructure to be maintained until we have progressed beyond antiquated forms of energy. It is not all one way or the other, stop with the incessant obstructionism regarding green energy, be a true American.

The Dodo is appropriate. It was wiped out by greedy Europeans exploring the Indian ocean. Hunted for sport and were gone within a century. An important link in the biological habitat of a solitary island killed for greed and sport.

Varvel again shows his Trump Disciple analysis skills. I guess his ‘point’ is somehow ‘owning the libs’. Or something.

Anything that could reduce extracting oil from American soil and getting into the air as fast as humanly possible (enriching oil oligarchs in the process) is somehow threatening to Trump Disciples like Varvel.

Varvel is both a cultural and technology illiterate!

Wind, solar, hydro, and natural gas have been in use for years, decades in fact. Where natural gas is 24×7 reliable, there is still a strong building of the industry for the green systems and those are gaining in output capacity and reliability. We are years away though from total 24×7 green power. And then there is the issue of getting the other industrial nations on board with all this ASAP. And they are not Trump Disciples as described in the other comments for this toon.

Please provide verifiable proof that wind energy is as efficient as current energy providers.

Some people just hate the future, and pine to preserve the past. Even if it kills them.

If the eagle was dead, and covered with oil, it would be on every greenie’s facebook page slamming oil companies, but if it was merely killed by a wind turbine blade, eh, just a dead bird.

Mr. Varvel is seriously deluded. If we’re using bird metaphors, Wind & Solar would be an eagle chick — yet to grow into a powerful raptor when the Gas eagle has become weak and decrepit with age.

The best solution is to continually add renewable energy to the existing sources of fossil fuels. The worst way is to kill the existing sources of energy before the renewables are ready to go at 100%.

Dodo’s were known as stupid animals. No wonder they went extinct. The problem is that sissy democrats will turn America into an extinct nation.

Can’t say this one has aged terribly well when my budget plan gas bill has tripled this year, meanwhile my renewables based electric bill has not gone up.
