My tv still only has 3 channels.

Oops. Never mind, that’s the closed circuit security system.

I remember when stations signed off at night and back on again at (I think) 6am….complete with a waving flag and playing The Star Spangled Banner before regular programing for the day began (cartoons. LOL ).

Remember when the spiel for cable was you pay for the shows and there won’t be any commercials?

Remember when Cable TV actually gave you shows to watch that were actually entertaining? And the specialty channels actually dealt in what they said they were for? ( Yeah, I’m lookin’ at you, History Channel.)

A TV was like a small computer monitor without a web browser. Computers were like phones, except the screens were big enough you could see things.

I expect whole walls will be the “screen” in the future. Or we’ll all be walking around with VR goggles.

I first saw TV on a round screen the size of a dinner plate. We lived in Chicago and could get two channels, badly. We took the TV when we moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, and the neighbors would come over, sit on the floor when we ran out of chairs, and watch the static. Occasionally, you could make out a scene-maybe- through the static, and that would lead to arguments as to exactly what they had seen. We had to send them home at bed time.

When I was a kid, we had thirteen channels. Ten of them showed static. The other three showed golf; I usually watched the static.

Now I have over 200 channels. And I still prefer the static.

I remember when color came out and they were doing commercials for color TVs on black and white TVs.

I remember when the President could monopolize all the channels with a speech and prevent you from watching ANYTHING else. Of course living close to the Canadian border I had the option of picking up a CBC station…but, unfortunately, CBC really stands for Completely Boring Content.
