An almost exact copy of the words from a cartoon yesterday. I hope that these ’toonists are pointing out how shallow that is, rather than how awful it is.
This should speed up the transition to electric vehicles substantially. And that would take away a major source of funding for many dictators, which would be a good thing. Not to mention the health benefits and the benefits for the planet.
The rise in gasoline is nothing more than price gouging. The amount of fuel imported from Russia is miniscule! This is just another rip off by the big oil companies.
folks will complain about gas prices – if it helps at all to stop putin i am in – imagine what everyone now would think about everything americans did to help out in ww2
SO… just how many of those posing, preening G.I. Joe Cosplaying Fake “Soljers” in “The Proud Gurlz” and “The 3% I.Q.” and the other “All-American Militia” groups like “The Oaf Creepers” are strapping on their body armor, and grabbing their AR-15s and volunteering to go help “Defend Democracy” in Ukraine?? You want a reason to wave your manhood extensions around for all the wold to see??? Well, here you go!
Putin doesn’t carpet bomb. Russians and Ukrainians are one face, one race. Biden is the Dr. Strangelove of our era. Biden should be put in the insane asylum. 25th Amendment.
“I’d do anything to help!” sure sounds (to me, at least) an awful lot like “I would’ve run in there even without a weapon” (or whatever the Dotard’s phrasing in the school shooting case was).
Coward. Snowflake. He can do what others did when our citizens in WW2. They conserved. We may carpool with our cousins next door, clip coupons, and other things.
Everybody rightly viewed Saudi Arabia as a backward, despotic, 3rd-world country until it was discovered that it was sitting atop the world’s largest reserves of oil. Now the culture and government are still backward, despotic, and 3rd-worldly, but it’s economy is 1st world, and the rest of the world has to take them seriously because of our dependence on all that oil.
Would switching over to electric vehicles make that dependence obsolete? It would help, but it comes with its own different form of dependence. “A single car lithium-ion battery pack (of a type known as NMC532) could contain around 8 kg of lithium, 35 kg of nickel, 20 kg of manganese and 14 kg of cobalt, according to figures from Argonne National Laboratory.” And where do we find all that nickel? #1 Indonesia, #2 The Philippines, #3 Russia. And Jokowi, Duterte, and Putin are not exactly huge fans of democracy and human rights, so they’d probably delight in forming their own version of OPEC and holding the rest of the world hostage to their willingness to supply nickel.
Simple solution: get all the Preachers and Evangelicals and born-agains to pray for cheaper gas, and the Bible promises that we will get it. Mathew 7:7

I haven’t seen a Humvee in months. Have owners converted them into guest houses?
