Since 2008 I use a PC and from 2012 a smartphone: never played games.

Interesting! I just got a Samsung Galaxy S9+ and it did not have any pre-loaded games in it! I would have to go to the App Store for those and most of them contain adds, which are frustrating while you are trying to play those games!

    :-O

I have a cell phone, but I prefer to use a land line. The phone is fine for listening to music.

Believe me Brutus, once the kid has a phone he won’t know you’re there.

It was much better when cell phones were made for phone calls. People do not talk to each other any more without two phones between them. I also have a son that will not talk only text and a grandson that will not answer his phone while playing games.

I remember a time even flip phones came with at least one simple game installed, like snakes. Kind of miss that extremely simple little game.

As for my current phone, only have one game installed. Picked it because it didn’t need any permissions to play. If you are on data or wifi it will throw ads at you every so many plays. It’s more of a time killer than a must play for me. Which is good, because like most games, they’d like to sell you things so you can play more. Would probably have more games, but too many games want permissions I don’t want to give them.

When I had to sit there for 15 – 20 minutes after getting my COVID shots it was nice to be able to play a game to pass the time.

Isn’t it amazing though, that we walk around with with a device in our pockets that’s a million times more powerful than an Apollo Guidance Computer.

Poor guys couldn’t even run Space Invaders on the long trip there and back. ;-(

I use my phone to make phone calls and to send text messages. I play solitaire on my laptop.

The kid’s honest. Might want to get him an Ipad or some tablet instead for pure gaming as the phone/text functions would be wasted. Plenty of time to get him a phone in the future to call and text his friends, assuming he has any except Hattie. He IS a chip off the old block as we all know…..

When my first Tracphone started messing up, they replaced it with one that wouldn’t run the games I had downloaded for the first one. As they did not require me to send the first one back, I’m still playing those games on it! ☺

Many kids just need an iPod Touch; it’s the iPhone without the phone. Did I say need?

I use my phone for several things—taking pictures, using the timer, alarm and stopwatch, reading on the Kindle app.—but I rarely ever make calls on it unless I have to. I hate talking to someone when they’re on their cell phone, because I have to tell them that they’re fading out, or their calls drop, and I have to wait until they call me back.

Get with it, Brutus! The last thing people focus on when they get a phone these days is making phone calls!

“You, and mom. To keep in touch.” The part about the games is supposed to remain unspoken, kid.
