I so wish I had just some of Dan’s artistic ability. Unfortunately, I have trouble drawing a stick man. However, I do share his affinity towards ‘sick’ humor. Love it Dan!!!

A desecration of a beautiful piece of art.

The original left me feeling exposed, vulnerable and very disoriented, as if the distance between Christina and the farmhouse was insurmountable. I was told that was the way Wyeth wanted the viewer to feel.

Wyeth and Christina were lifelong friends, and she was certainly a muse to him. At one time he said he hoped that when they died they could buried side by side.

The original painting was and still is controversial, for a variety of reasons, not least because some regarded it as exploitative of Christina’s physical condition.

Christina herself loved the picture.

Pearl clutchers seem to find this rendition uncomfortably challenging too.

There are, in every place and time, those who think that anything that makes them uncomfortable is morally suspect.
