Someone pointed out that our current national embarrassment has achieved a goal to be proud of. He has garnered half of all the presidential impeachments ever known.

Another speaker suggested he put on his big boy pants and stop his dangerous rhetoric.

A third said, I think the worst place one could find oneself is inside his head

I got a slight feeling respect is not a word one associates with our current inmate.

He’s still got 5 full days left. That’s still enough time for him to do something that’ll get him impeached a third time. Don’t underestimate his stupidity and malevolence.

It’s not the impeachment folk don’t like.. its the necessity to reign him in that concerns most folk.

For once McConnell, AKA “Missing Mitch,” AKA “Midnight Mitch,” AKA “Moscow Mitch,” AKA “Mitch Trump’s Bitch” may be on the same side. He said that impeaching Trump may be the way to purge the Republican Party of Trump. By this I hope he means conviction as well, so the country can be purged of Trump.

We got into this mess through circular reasoning. Trump lies. Some people believe it and repeat the lie. Trump hears this and says “People say.” Since “people say” more people believe the lie. Since people believe the lie GOP Congressmen (who really know better) repeat the lie so they can get elected. People listen to them and say "Well, if my neighbor is saying it an my Representative is saying it and my Senator is saying it, and Fox News is saying it, (got to feed the “base” to keep ratings up) it MUST be true. Then Trump caps it off with “Everybody knows.”

If we can break the chain of lies, then we will do much better as a nation. Decapitation is the most efficient method. Kill the lies at their source. Once the Liar-in-Chief is out of office and officially disgraced and exposed for the fraud that he is, we will have the truth prevailing again.

May the State of New York prove him to be the fraud we know he is. Heavy fines and jail time for the trump family has been earned.

Clinton’s approval rating was in the high 60s after his impeachment. Trump’s present rating is 35%

Let me see how this works. Trump tells a lie that the election is rigged and Fox News and a majority of Republican lawmakers shout the lie across the nation.

Trump urges non-violence and the response from Trump News (I mean Fox News) and the GOP elected officials is and I quote, " "

I see where Trump is having a problem finding lawyers to represent him in the impeachment: the second one, that is.

You have to be in pretty bad shape not to have lawyers wanting to associate themselves with you.

One thing I don’t get. How is it senators from one state can question the legality of the vote in another state? Not their business, it seems to me. And definite interference in the sovereignty of another political jurisdiction.

If I were defending Trump, I would try to limit the evidence to the single speech and pick on every word. Words have nuances and I would try to downplay the meaning of every single word in isolation. My defense would be that Trump never explicitly told the crowd to invade the Capitol violently or otherwise. I would also point out that there was no way that Trump could know that the mob would be predisposed to violence.

If I were the prosecution, I would present Trump in context. I would look at all the speeches, none of whom Trump repudiated including “trail by combat” Giuliani. I would further look at his 4-year history: every rally, every tweet.

Then I would cite history. If you measure every word Hitler said in isolation, he never knew about the Holocaust. There are no documents about it with his name on it, he never visited a concentration camp and he never mentioned it in any of his speeches. You cannot find evidence that he explicitly ordered the extermination of the Jews. Yet is there any doubt that he was responsible?

Take Trump at all his four years. His mob has precedence for violence and even armed occupation of a State Capitol. The mob did not stop by a gun store on the way to the Capitol to pick up some last-minute weapons. They came to Trump’s rally, armed and ready for a fight.
