Well, that wraps up the Case of the Exploding Cranberry Tart. Next case to investigate: The Case of the Cranberry Paw Prints (although the People probably pinned the potential perpetrators prior to purported printing).

Green eyes, such a wonderful contrast to cranberry red.

Leave it to the Woman to find the bright side! Curious to know if this was based on a real incident.

And once again, lupin is caught red handed for something that wasn’t his handiwork.

Lupin seems very cheerful for a cat getting a bath! But he gets to be nekkid again!

Lupin and Goldie aren’t the only two who are getting along better. When she started coming in the house, Maggie hissed at Josette once in a while. Now that Maggie is more self-assured, she’s much more civil. I shrieked with laughter with this one! Lupin covered with tart in second panel, Puck gamely confirming scientific observation, both boys being Very compliant with their baths, Elvis looking very p#$&$#$ ( in a dignified way, of course) and Goldie very pleased with herself. Finally she and Lupin are getting along and the People are looking on the bright side. Perfection!

The little clothesline with all the little cat-clothes simply slays me.

On the other bright side, we get to see a nekkid Lupin!

And Lupin looks smashing in cranberry face makeup!. Based on yesterday’s strip I though Puck would get the worst of it.

Don’t think I would be so calm if my hard work had hit the floor.

And on the other, other bright side, there’s also a nekkid Pucky that I missed the first time!

Oh my cat, that clothesline is so precious. Fortunately, heads are in the way and the unmentionables are discreetly hidden. I’m not sure who actually did the laundry, though.

I was going to make a pumpkin pie next week, but now I am thinking a tart would be nice.

Seasons have Cranberry for Thanksgiving. With most of the decorations being the colors of falling leaves. Having worked in a Fabric, Arts and Craft Store… colors are important to enjoy the festivities.

But! Most people aim for Red and Green for Christmas. That tradition started when people would get stuck inside for months on end. A sort of Lockdown… but because of snow and cold. People would bring in bows and vines of happy colorful greenery. Stuff that would smell good after so many months of people not bathing. Christmas colors are actually Blue, Silver and Gold. The colors of a Starry Night when shepherds came to a stable.

So… if the cats want to try this bounce thing again… (Grin!)… may I suggest a lovely Blueberry Pie! With a Starry Crust making its own type of Milky-way in sparkles!

It looked as though Puck was directly under it, and yet Lupin got the worst of it. I note that some of the splashes got as high as the counter Goldie is on.

Goldie and Lupin getting along? Maybe, but she still owes him an apology.

Burt-Ra: Well, here are some potatoes and po-tah-toes as well as the last of the tomatoes and to-mah-tos. Some cat-friendly onions and garlic, and 24 karat carrots for Avenger and Emma. He also has marigolds for you, Your Majesty.

Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Oh, my favorite! How lovely.

Lupinium: Are there any berries?

Burt-Ra: Yes. We have plenty of splatberries for the splatberry tarts.

Elvis-Anum: I can’t wait. Nothing like splatting tarts with dignity.

Beatrixia: I got a brand new white tunic just for the occasion!

OT: Ally is back! eating, playing tag with her 14 yr old sister from another litter, and so many headboops and shoulder perching!

I hate to say it, but The Woman should have known better. (Georgia, I’m not ranking on you, not directly anyway. I know The Woman is you. But we’ve all been there. I’m an avid baker also and speak from experience in the “baked good on the floor” category. Same as leaving cold cuts on the counter when you have dogs.

( On the bright side, you got to play splat with the reds in your paint box. Probably a good way to be artistic and get out some bottled-up aggression at the same time.)

Goldie proves Gravity….it’s The Law!

The Pin-In-The-Face gag goes all the way back to vaudeville. It followed the entertainers to Hollywood and became a staple of slap-stick comedy for decades.

In my humble opinion, he best ever pie fight ever filmed was in the 1965 comedy classic – The Great Race – with Natalie Wood, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Peter Falk. With Music by Henry Mancini and the movie was perfect on every level.

The Man’s smile is just a skosh too broad. The Woman will no doubt take note of this.

I like the little outfits on the clothesline. Who would have put them up, since the people can’t see them?

The pink-tinged bubbles in the bath basin! Goldie supervising the bathing with satisfaction; and Elvis supervising with annoyance. Good, clean family fun!

The Man just understood Puck. Look out, the People are developing intelligence!

Considering everything that happened and now have to clean up, the people are taking it very well.

Pie-bouncing as a clown event. Do we clean up with the seltzer squirts now? Do cranberry stains even come out of white fur?

National Seat Belt Day: I remember when installed seat belts became mandatory, and all the stupid resistance. Years later, using them became mandatory, and again, lots of stupid resistance. Sound familiar? With this experience, I have a solution for those who don’t want to wear face masks: they fasten a seat belt very tightly around their neck. This should be sufficient … it will also cure the world of their stupidity. Mandatory disclaimer: Do not attempt this without first consulting a medical doctor to determine whether it is right for you.

National Family PJ Day: This holiday has been extended to cover the entire year, and it means that any time can be nap time!

I laughed out loud! I’m still chuckling. The second panel is priceless. Lupin’s emotional state comes thru loud and clear. One of the many reasons I like this strip. (I also like the pink-ish bath bubbles.)

At first sight I thought that lupin was covered in blood.

This experiment has open new possibilities for baked good warfare, the tart grenade is being developed as we speak.

We know this was a science experiment, but if I were The Woman, I think I’d have a different assessment of the situation. Given Lupin and Goldie’s history, I’d think Goldie shoved the tart over Lupin on purpose. Puck was just collateral damage.

I’m glad they are getting along.

Did Lupin enjoy his b**h?

Yesterday I was expecting it to land on top of Puck, and Lupin to get the splash effect. Today I see it was the other way around.

And look at those angry eyes in the last panel. Either Elvis doesn’t approve of the man’s joke, or he’s upset he missed out on the taste of fresh-off-the-floor cranberry tart.

Lupin looks stunned, but seems very much to enjoy his vaudville bath!

Are cranberries bad for cats? I’ve always operated on the assumption they were. I love them and absolutely live on cranberry muffins for half the year. The cats get tastes of the part that doesn’t include cranberries, but the pin-your-ears-back tart parts are just for me!

Glad to hear you’re on the mend. I had a similar experience 3 years ago. Went to my doctor because I had shortness of breath, he sent me to the ER immediately. Blood clots in both lungs, one blocking my heart from pumping blood into my lungs to get oxygen. Heperain to break up the clots and sent me home with blood thinners. 3 weeks later back in the ER with the same symptoms- eventually diagnosed with CTEPH (an extraordinarily rare form of high blood pressure in the lungs). Only 2 places in the country treat it – Philadelphia and San Diego. Luckily, I’m close to Philadelphia. 3 surgeries later, they have done what they can and I’m on specialty/experimental medication to slow down the progression. Never ignore symptoms and take action when something is “off”.
