I have yet to see Donald Trump make a speech where he did not stumble, mispronounce words, or mangle the language with inane repetitions of adjectives or made-up adverbs (“bigly” comes to mind), or stray off-topic into a rant even his handlers can’t decipher. Moreover, Biden can answer a simple question without turning red in the face, flinging accusations or childish names at the questioner, and has even been known to admit an error.
Good grief, Payne. You should realize you’re backing the wrong candidate when all you can do is falsely accuse his opponent of having your guy’s obvious defects.
For those who missed civics class, Trump is a demagogue or rabble-rouser a leader who gains popularity in a democracy by exploiting emotions, prejudice, and ignorance to arouse some against others, whipping up the passions of the crowd and shutting down reasoned deliberation. Demagogues overturn established norms of political conduct, or promise or threaten to do so. But, I’m sure he writes all his speeches.
The deadliest weapon a politician can deploy is to be underestimated. If Trumpish people mean what they say about Biden, they have gravely mis- and underestimated him. (On the other hand, when has a Trump acolyte ever meant what they said, except perhaps for Stephen Miller.)
