People can’t yell at other people in the newspaper. Which is why I still prefer to read the news rather than have it crammed down my throat by TV. Also when reading the news it is easier to pick out the biases than when watching it on TV. Finally, if TV gave as much detail and covered as many stories as printed media: news programs would last 6 hours (without commercials).
About the only advantage TV has over printed media is that the pictures move, but even there, they usually only show snippets that may or may not be in context.
Years ago, when I still bothered to watch TV, the first time some rude idiot yelled, I turned it off. Then I made the logical next step, and stopped turning it on.
