They are just into EVERYTHING!

I asked why my brake cylinder was now plastic. Government weight restrictions. I didn’t ask why my bumper was plastic, but when my bumper collapses after brake failure, I’ll be within regulations

Used to be able to have brake rotors turned a couple times before having to replace them, but in the zeal to reduce weight to meet CAFE standards, OEM brake rotors can’t be resurfaced without falling below minimum thickness specs.

The cumulative effect of all the governmental meddlings into your car, your job, your health care, your housing, your investments, etc., etc., has been to freeze the American standard of living for the last few decades.

Don’t see it? That’s because there are several things that have insulated us from this fact: women leaving the home to go to work, the growth of still-mainly-free computer technology, China, and Wal-Mart. Without these, we’d be going backwards.

But if government growth is not rolled back, life is going to be very, very hard for your children and grandchildren.

I didn’t read the details, but I just saw a claim that bailed-out GM and Chrysler were responsible for 9 of the 11 worst cars on the road.

Anyone remember the Yugo?

Nobody was EVER promised a free car.

Unfortunately, the “worst 11 cars” story is no longer on Yahoo headlines. There is a Consumer Reports story on the Internets which gives 2 Toyotas, 1 Suzuki, and 1 Mercury in their worst 11, so if you take out those 4, it would be difficult for GM and Chrysler to have 9 of the remaining 7. Maybe it’s Star Trek: Voyager.

NOBODY was promised a FREE car?

Well now I can relax!!!! I’ve been waiting for mine, now I know why it never arrived:)

This is the sort of cartoon that one might find on Sarah Palin’s refridgerator. -short on intellect, long on suspicion and ungrounded/unfounded fear. -makes for an easy following, however cheap the bait.

btw; It’s the corporations that have bought your government. Dig a little deeper, people.

Lots of confused comments today from pschearer et al. Regualtions have saved lives and made cars more efficient. If a manufacturer cheats by making parts smaller that’s the manufacturer’s fault, not the regulation’s fault. By the way, be thankful that the government drove manufacturers to add the following: headlights, brake lights, backup lights, windshield wipers, and unexposed gas tanks, to name just a few.

Definitely junkyard material! Ready for the scrap heap.
