Republicans and Democrats have voted to raise the debt ceiling each and every time it has come up for a vote. Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush, the Lesser, increased the nation’s debt every year of their combined 20 years in the White House.
It’s really tiring to read the right- wingnuts repeat, ad nauseum, the falsehood that Democrats are responsible for the debt and are solely to blame for having to raise the debt ceiling. When are the Republicans going to grow up and take responsibility for their actions? They may say they are for small government, but saying it doesn’t make it true.
^ I actually think that “Bush, the Lesser” is quite funny. It’s kind of Monty Python-esc.
btw… I agree, just saying it doesn’t make it true. That is a very wise and true assessment. Now please apply that to everything… not just to conservative/Rep statements.
