Fenec, Thanks for the summary, but I don’t imagine that would make for a great political cartoon.
I don’t expect political cartoons to accurately reflect anything; however, I do like them to be witty, insightful, thought provoking, etc. This is dull and sophomoric.
There’s plenty of recent work in my field (personality psychology) on this issue and related issues. But I would hesitate to state any of this too strongly, especially the brain biology portions.

Spendocrat doesn’t necessarily mean Democrat. Status Quo also involves our military spending, so that would include Republicans.
