The rabbits are actually not rabbits. They are from Hayao Miyazaki’s My Neighbor Totoro. I believe they are actually forest spirits. This is a truely wonderful movie, check out the attached gifs from it, especially the cat bus.

I never knew Sophia Loren played pool, the guy in the rear of the picture is thinking: left hand in the breast pocket. My thoughts too for that matter.

“Medical maggots.” I didn’t know they came by prescription. There are accounts of Allied medics in Japanese PoW camps using them to remove necrotic tissues from wounds. Details would make a trench rat gag.
I found a whole box of photos of roughly this vintage sitting on a dumpster in Italy. I took them home and showed them to various visitors…was a great conversation piece. Oddly enough they were later stolen during a break-in.
