will she even approve of the catch he’ll bring into the house? after my father and I one summer went fishing with a few church friends, my stepmother didn’t want the bag of fish dripping in the kitchen

This is just depressing. There’s only one chair in front of this old TV so she has to just stand there while he watches golf. That’s grounds for divorce.

What? She doesn’t have her own TV (with a DVR) so she can record and re-watch all her soaps just in case she missed a significant plot twist? Grounds for divorce! With cruelty!

Forget fishing, if your TV is still like that, you’re definitely a plugger.

That’s quite an antique TV set. Okay, mine is a CRT monitor too, but not so antique looking!

My love of antiques and vintage took a severe blow, when they started gushing and fawning over “Mid-century Modern” and I realized I’d BECOME an ANTIQUE because I was in born in 1955…the middle of the century and the middle of the decade they were going crazy about.

Nah, Caledonia, her chair is on the side. She’s sitting in HIS chair! Her chair is next to the table where she keeps her knitting or crocheting ready to work on.

That looks like my parent’s old Zenith Chromacolor console, now long gone. These days mom’s remote controls the tv and dvd/cd player. Dad only uses his for the volume control and the mute button. They still have a tv/vcr player in the computer room, for when the great-grandkids (or dad) want to watch some really old movies.

She also hopes that he doesn’t catch anything, so that she doesn’t have to clean and gut it.

Did everyone miss the olive green shag carpet? I knew someone who had one of those and it was ugly then too. Don’t know why anyone would want one of those, especially with that color!

Wow, that looks just like the Magnavox TV I had for 20+ years. Great TV, kinda heavy, but it had rollers and that’s when a TV was also more of an artful piece of furniture.

Looks like the set we had at my parents’ house… until my little sister managed to pour a sippy cup full of water down the back of it in 1980. RIP console TV
