My grandkids would love to stick with their traditions of visiting museums and ballparks. A few mothers might want to start a new tradition of just one hour at a spa leaving the dads to manage alone.
Last Friday, I looked up a map of my state to find a county that had no reported cases of the Trump Plague. I had been self isolated for three weeks, so I felt like it was safe that I wouldn’t infect anyone, then drove 40 miles to the grocery store in that county. I’m 75 and have type A blood, so if you think that’s overreacting, I hope you’re right, but I doubt it. I got $200 worth of groceries, should last at least until the end of July.
Then, I noticed a pharmacy tech and asked her " Are there any cases reported here yet?" Her answer: “We wouldn’t know, we have some people we’d like to test, but we have to get the tests from either St Louis or Chicago, and they don’t have enough to test their own people.” So, if you think you are in a Trump Plague free zone, that may be just another one of his lies.
Holly welcome to our world. We have a very nasty to deadly virus going around. I do not want to get into politics as SS is a escape from life. Even here most could not leave as schools was on spring break, when each Governor canceled school. I at least have my comics and books. As primetime shows are raping with no new ones shows starting.
Spring break? We never had a Spring break when I was in school. The colleges did but not grades K-12. Wouldn’t have mattered anyway, my Dad was a stay-at-home and his idea of vacation time was working around the house or going fishing. I travelled quite a bit in my job so I now understand his philosophy. For the most part, I want to stay home also.
All the comments about the virus, Trump and the governments response and whose at fault. The comic is about Holly’s disappointment at having to stay home during Spring Break. Several states went on spring break and have cancelled the rest of the school year. Holly would be thrilled that school was out for the year but still disappointed that she can’t go anywhere.
I recall one year, Val took the kids on a Staycation to a local motel (adjoining rooms) for the weekend, with pool of course, and they ordered whatever they wanted from room service, played in the pool (to clarify, Holly sunbathed and Alix played in the pool), watched movies, cleaned out the mini-fridge, and had a good time! Best line (Alix) “Are we there yet?” Val: “yup. we’re here!”

On a lighter note, did Jan give Holly a set of horns in the 3rd panel?
