A dog who cares about George Orwell jokes and their implications? . . . tell me this isn’t a deep-water comic strip.
Bravo, Mr Schultz.

I remember an editorial cartoon from 1-1-84. There were hundreds of people gathered in a large auditorium, all facing an immense screen. A voice comes over the speaker, and says, “It’s 1984, and I’m Big Brother.”

Ah, the first place I ever heard of George Orwell and 1984. I read this at the age of eleven on New Year’s Day 1984, and asked my mom what it meant. She gave me a brief run-down of what 1984 was about (also the first time I ever heard the term “Big Brother”).
