I can’t believe how much a part of my life the library has become. I used to be a book buyer, but now. . .we have a great little public library (which does offer the NYT and the WSJ) with a great kids’ section and a pretty good sized computer section. And the town council is VERY involved in seeing that it doesn’t go “private”. . .and I live in central FL, so we’re not ALL rubes down here.
I work in the children’s room of our public library and I love all the kids and their parents who come in eager to find the latest book in a new series, or discover something new to them. We help with homework, computers and we do crafts and story time.

I don’t go to the library as often now. But when I was their age every weekend I would trudge there in the awful heat, but it was worth it.
