    Only around three billion…? Wow. This was only about 40 or so years ago. In a single lifetime, the population of the world has almost tripled. Wow…

    It’s more than doubled (6.8 billion) since then, but it hasn’t tripled (10.2 billion). We have quite a way to go before we triple that figure.

    Consider just the United States, which had a population of 203 million in 1971. Today we have nearly 340 million. (And for some reason, all of that growth wants to live in San Francisco and complain that there’s not enough housing there!)
