My wife wears it on the right knee. She swears those jump-rope sock-puller-uppers work exceptionally well for slipping a knee wrap on too.

I have the same problem with my knee. It hurts sometimes when I walk. But I keep on walking. Usually it does not bother me.

I can think of some thing that’s great for your cardiovascular system builds stamina and is lots of fun, any one for rowing, oh wait I think I spelled it wrong.

All joking aside – I walk a fair amount and jog a little. I bought high-quality (and expensive) shoes, and my knees never hurt.

To no one in particular, sometimes knees have to carry more weight than they were designed for. Although that doesn’t appear to be Janis’ problem.

Arlo probably has something else in mind to help their cardiovascular.

Mr. Rip, the human body is marvelously designed. Of the millions of choices in that design there are only two “mistakes” noone is aware of, and your knees aren’t either of them.

I was jogging a few weeks ago early in the morning, still dark, and tripped over a crack in the road. Thought I dislocated my shoulder but after an mri the doc said I tore my subscapularis tendon that can only be repaired by surgery. All of my non-running friends and fam are making fun of my “healthy” lifestyle now.

I used to walk my dogs in a nearby park. Saw a guy jogging. Then not. Then saw him jogging with a knee brace. Then not. Then saw him jogging with TWO knee braces. Then not. Then walking with braces and a cane.

Tore my medial meniscus in my right knee playing softball. Doc couldn’t repair it, so he took it out.

If I rotate on that leg, the bones lock.

My knee brace just keeps it stable

I have been a runner for the past 40 years, something over 20,000 miles and never had any running injury. I do have a knee brace though, from tearing my ACL when playing volleyball a few years ago. Go figure.

I put in over 300 miles of hiking when I was in the Boy Scouts. Doesn’t that count for anything?

but, back to the cartoon….it is a shame that “healthful” exercise does often cause pain in parts of the body.

And if my injured back didn’t start killing me after walking a half block, I would walk more often like I used to.

and it beats jogging by a lot. …but I still think the best exercise is swimming – especially in an “Endless” pool type unit where you can swim against a current.

(So has failure to try. Turns out, you’re likely to die.)

Rosanna Rosannadanna: What’s all this I hear about walking being unhealthy? If it’s not healthy, I won’t do it! Walking for health is probably a gimmick invented by the food industry to eat make us eat their product more!
