Or just buy a stair stepper. It’ll make a great place to stack your clothes that need ironing.

Belonged to a gym for a while, too noisy. I think all zumba/aerobics instructors are required to have serious hearing losses. “NO, I DON’T THINK THE MUSIC IS TOO LOUD!!!!!”

We live out in the country on a few acres. Our driveway is intentionally a city block (0.1mi) and a bit so getting the morning paper and the mail is almost a half mile right there. Plus we walk it just because too. Mowing the lawn is lots of walking too. Could do the Sliver Sneakers thing but it’s a long drive. And pursuing my Nature Photography hobby, I walk around a lot every day shooting (https://www.flickr.com/photos/95092956@N00/).

We went to a great gym. All the staff yelled “hi” when you came in and most knew your name. They offered help and encouragement. I was a “man of extra dimension” but never felt like I didn’t belong there. Six months later, the staff had been fired and replaced, and the new bunch either were working out themselves or had their faces buried in their phones. They would sit together and laugh at people. I stopped going and took my card keys in on the last day so they wouldn’t charge me for them. They just took my stuff and said “ok”. I didn’t quit the gym, I quit the small minded idiots working there…Snap Fitness in Ionia Michigan.

Up and down each aisle from the front to the back and to the front again. Approximately one and a half miles.

Gyms are very dependent of people who buy a years membership, then never show up. I know because I were one.

I’m looking forward to moving to my new apartment complex for exercise. They have everything I would need in there fitness area, and pools to swim in summer months. It’s large and quiet, so I also will be walking my dog more which will help both of us stay fit.

I’ve been a Planet Fitness member for 3 years. They accept Silver Sneakers. It’s a basic gym. But I enjoy its no pressure atmosphere.

I have a 24 hour fitness with a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. It’s a ten minute drive but there are several stores I use along the way so it’s not inconvenient.

Problem with doing things outside is as husband has aged and from the meds he takes he cannot take the heat. He starts to sweat through his shirt and gets dizzy rather quickly. He won’t hire someone to mow the grass (mostly in the backyard – front and one side is almost all driveway) as it is too expensive and he insists on doing it. Done maybe 3-4 times a season and I have to go and watch him and help him. Last time I convinced him to let me do it.

He needs summer shirts desperately – one can see him through most of his. I finally got him to go the outlet of the shirts he likes as he would pass out at full price for them ($26 a shirt! they must be kidding!) He wears dress type shirts all the time. They are much easier to find in short sleeve than when one has to deal with sleeve length also. I found about 20 shirts – all but 5 of them were “too heavy for a summer shirt”. The 5 he took were “I don’t know maybe I can wear them”.

At least the heat problem keeps him from moving us to Williamsburg, VA. I like it here.

Does that mean they’re supposed to be over 60 at this point— that is, in 2019 when this strip appeared? Or over 65? I thought they were still probably in their late-50’s. Also— are they both retired? Seems like it’s been awhile since I’ve seen any reference to going to work, or a strip that showed either of them in an office— which were never frequent, but once in awhile.
