Meanwhile , the anticipation grows as July 4th approaches . Milfordites are looking forward to the annual stunt show,demo derby and fireworks display at the Milford Speedway, the Odd Fellows Pig Roast, Rick Soto concert at the Milford Civic Center and of course carrying the Milford tradition of throwing firecrackers at strangers, in all reality .
So after some extensive searching (because I have no life) this was the start of the Jaquan and Hadley story, back in 2004-5. He was some stud high school player like Lebron James and Milford ended up playing them in a non-conference games late in the season. Jaquan was trying to hide from all the cameras and attention when he met Gil and Hadley.
You’ll notice just how awesome the artwork was at that time.
Really need the color version to tell what color HVB’s hair is in P2. I say some shade of shocking pinkish/purple since those are the colors of Northwestern and University of Chicago.
How on earth could Gil not know where Jaquan went to college? It’s not like Gil has had so many future NBA stars play for him he can’t keep track of them.
I’m sure the 5 or 6 days it’s going to take for them to explain how they started dating will be well worth it. Yes, I’m being facetious. And speaking of worth it, it was worth it to wait an extra day for new episodes of Mopped Up Thorp . Yesterday’s and today’s strips are now online.
