I still don’t get why they don’t pull the letter regarding the murder of an undercover cop out of where ever they put and use that. There is no statue of limitations on murder.

With both Trixie and her testimonial (note: not “testimony”) missing, Tracy’s new task is a big one but with a short time limit. It will IMO be easier to track what became of her testimonial and how it was removed from judicial files than to find her (or her remains)….
I looked up both words, so I would know for sure what I was talking about. A testimony is a formal statement, written or given orally, usually in a court of law, stating facts. A testimonial is a formal statement attesting to someone’s character, a tribute to someone, honoring someone for an achievement. I believe willofark is correct – in the context of what the Chief is talking about, the better word would have been testimony.
