One crutch for another. I mean if someone is going to inhale something and nicotine is the requirement for inhalation satisfaction I suppose there are proven worse things to smoke. I’ll stick to cigars.
But remember that those people, older smokers trying to quit, were adults lured to smoking by deceptive advertising. So let’s not allow several more generations to become nicotine addicts treated mostly at the public’s expense.
There should be more info about ecigs and how dangerous they are. Instead, we have a leader who has appointed himself as the Director of Windmill Oncology.
A REALLY unsettling tidbit of information that I learned the past week:
According to the DOD, 71% of Americans between the ages of 17 and 24 are ineligible to serve in the US Army dues to: 1. poor education; 2. obesity; 3. record of crime or drug abuse; 4. mental health challenges. (CSM Daily, 4/26/19; https://www.strongnation.org/articles/414-map-many-young-americans-are-ineligible-to-serve-in-the-military)
Also in CSM: 1. The French fencing academy has decided to include “light sabers” in their array of fencing weapons to “engage young people and make exercise more attractive.” (3.18.19 weekly issue). 2.Philadelphia is spending $50 million to build Fusion Arena, an esports stadium designed for viewing “competitive esports.” It will be “unlike anything so far in the esports world.”
I’m not usually a pessimistic person, but we’re into “Matrix” territory. . .
My high school daughter came clean to us two weeks ago and told us she’d been hitting the Juul for about a year. She wanted to quit and wanted our support. She estimates over 50% of the juniors and seniors in her high school are vaping nicotine. She says many start because of the candy flavors, and are under the impression that they don’t contain nicotine, or that nicotine is harmless.

Far more nicotine in a smaller package, one of our most addictive substances, so no problem, right?

Mr. Butts (the grown up Nick O’Teen) knows the real flavor is in the tar. Silly JUULS is jonesing for an acronym. Or attempting to be a homonym?

One of my daughter’s friends recently quipped, “why are their toilets in the vaping room?”

Not only are Juuls dangerous for the nicotine, they also tend to explode unexpectedly like a firecracker. Nothing safe about them.

“You can quit, but it will still get you in the end.” Leonard Nimoy. (Lennie was a 3 pack day smoker for about 30 years. HIs last few were torture)

My opinion on vaping: if you already smoke, it’s a great alternative. If you don’t smoke, don’t start.
