Amen. Nothing worse than being reminded of how old you are and hanging around other old people is a constant reminder. Their conversations are limited to aches, pains, doctor visits, the weather and grandchildren. Sigh
That is so true. My mother was in her eighties and stopped going with me to her reunion. When I asked why, she said, “because there are so many old people there.”
The last reunion I went to was my 40th. No one recognized me because I had been overweight in high school and was then slim. Also had had long hair, but then much shorter. They all thought I looked terrific. So, I figured that things could not end better and would never go to another reunion though they keep having them.

Then, you start checking out obituaries for people who are younger than you.

Hang around younger people to stay young-some of them look old anyway.

Or just how bad I would feel. Being young and doing some very dumb things leads to being old and decrepit

At least not physically.
