There’s a lot of Calvin in the new Nancy…though I haven’t read the strip since the beginning (since I’m not 120 years old) so maybe she was also a verbose little snot back in the 40s or whatever.
A little very obscure trivia. A friend of mine is the project lead on a game in pre-development and one section involves the main characters visiting an alternate dimension that turns out to be the afterlife for old cartoon characters that have died of neglect. The current owners of these cartoons have been sending him tons of little-known background and he sends parts of it along to me almost every day.
Apparently the Little Audrey cartoon series was almost discontinued early on because some audience members were uncertain if she was supposed to be Nancy. I haven’t seen Little Audrey since back in the last century, but I don’t see too many points of confusion
