As much as English is my native tongue, the joke with right meaning correct and the opposite of left never gets old.

Time for Opal to learn some synonyms. I mean correct for right instead of port and starboard.

Is that an old Studebaker?

Black and white? Did they go back in time? Or a trip down memory lane?

Opal needs to work on her cadence calls.

She needs to say “correct” instead of right. That’s what I tell my brother when he starts this.

I would just get out and walk.

Use starboard and port. But then I need to remember which is which. Um – port has four letters just like left. And left is opposite the hand I write with. Oops – Missed my turn.

I don’t even get in the car unless I already know exactly how to get to where I’m going.

Once, I was driving and a friend was directing me. “Turn right,” he said. I started to turn right. “No, no, not this way, the other right!” he exclaimed. “You mean left?” I asked. “Yes, I mean left!”

Hate when that happens ! Use your other left ;-)

My Dad taught me and I taught my kids to say “correct, or no, you want to turn….” when directions are the subject :)

There is a scene in an old Lucille Ball movie called “The Long Long Trailer” where she says to Desi, “Turn right here!” He turn right. She screams, “What are you doing?” He says, “You said turn right here.” Her: “I didn’t finish. I was saying, ‘Turn right here left.’”

Her directions left something to be desired, right?

Yep and I owned one in 1959

How much more does color cost?

Ahhh, the days of the co-pilot! Now Tallulah, the voice of the GPS in my car, tells me when and where to turn. It is one of the ways technology really has made life better. I remember being lost in Minneapolis once, and asking my friend, who had the city map open on her lap, to tell me the name of the next major north-south artery that we would come to. She looked at me blankly and said, “Would that be an up-and-down or a back-and-forth?” And I said, “Give me that map!” The joys of trying to steer and read a map at the same time. Who misses that?

If you turn left, you’ll be right. If you turn right, you’ll be left.

If left isn’t right, then right must be right because right is all that’s left, right?

And then there’s my mother-in-law’s navigation: “Turn here”.

Must be “casual Friday” with the black-and-white motif… unless Mr. Crane is attempting an “off-color” joke…

why black and white today?

Elvis’s first album on Sun Records featured the song “You’re right, I’m left, she’s gone.”

And there was the time our young granddaughter told us, “Turn straight here,” which in her mind meant keep going. Don’t turn.

I guess Crayola dropped their endorsement.

Colorist took the day off?

They drove right out of the color.

English as she is spoke.

They finally left their house and ventured outside? No wonder they don’t do it often – the world is in black and white!

Okay… Now everyone understands why men don’t ask for directions.

Why is this in black and white?

My best friend and I had 1952 Studebaker’s in 1960. His was green and mine was grey. They both burned oil like it was going out of style. I sold mine for $6.00 to a junk dealer and my friends threw a rod going to work.
