    While I’m certainly not trying to defend this guy, what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Until I see a shred of evidence, I ain’t believing any of the accusers.

    It’s true, there are now two classes in America: privileged and non-privileged, with very different standards of justice, rights, and economic security. A lot of people fall into the Venn diagram overlap of the two (not clearly one or the other), and it only takes a health crisis, a corporate downsizing, a defaulted student loan, a family members addiction, or a natural disaster to move them from the increasingly narrow band of “middle class” to non-privileged.

    The fight over Kavanaugh, while centered on objectifying women, is actually over whether he is preconditioned to rule predominantly (or exclusively) in favor of the privileged.

    Knowing he would never vote to overturn Citizens United or to undo radical gerrymandering, the GOP can’t let his abuses get in the way of United Oligarchs of Amerika.

    @n8cwhite At least you have put your finger on the problem. If you are not prepared to believe a victim without corroborating evidence, you will allow many people (mostly men) to get away with sexual assault on (mostly) women and children.

    That is why this cartoon so thoroughly skewers the various trumpian responses:

    1. women have many valid reasons for not coming forward at the time;

    2. we know from the clergy scandals that accusations from the vulnerable may not arise for decades;

    3. we are happy to ruin the lives of many based on “youthful indiscretions” so why do the privileged get a pass;

    4. the consequences for a victim are not determined by the brevity of an incident.

    Innocent until proven guilty is still appropriate for a criminal court. But for a life-time appointment to the highest court, I prefer not a shadow of doubt.

    Trump Disciples do not understand cartoons like this one.

    Because they’re not, you know, racist.
