Sorry guys and gals, but I have to agree with Howgozit this time. Ramirez, with tongue firmly in cheek, is saying that if the elephant believed and tried to implement these ideas, it would lead to its extinction. The ‘toon is a sarcastic slap at the Democrats programs.

Hate to say it, but Bluejayz is right. Definitely poing fun at Dem pograms.

Anybody notice how both parties have gone far from center, encouraging their respective extremists? Has this country just plain gotten stupider? Just saying …..

Just more of the same garbage- yep, we REALLY need enough nukes to destroy the world THOUSANDS OF TIME OVER, NOT JUST HUNDREDS OF TIMES!! A two year reprieve from paying taxes isn’t permanent- so cry me a river. A weeping wimp Boehner is concerned about a “gay” in the military???? And the only stimulus the elephants want is more Ex-Lax to produce more of their usual “gift” to the populace.

Right On, Ramirez!!! (he is going after the RINOs in the GOP, not the basic Reagan/Palin GOP majority!)

If the GOP actually chose to be a clone of the Liberal/Left Democratic Party, there would be no need ever to vote for the GOP…..when voters prefer an ALTERNATE candidate!

Independents and Tea Party voters chose many GOP candidates who ran as strong Conservatives, as Reagan-type smaller governernment and lower spending and lower taxes agendas!! Why would they vote for “democrat lite”?

Reagan was a RINO by today’s standards.

Black soldiers being “forced” to serve with white soldiers when 80% of white soldiers objected would qualify, in this example, as “social engineering during wartime”

That tax cut “certainty” has been there for about 10 years now.

on the issue of “Social Engineering”… 8 GOP Rinos joined with Democrats in the senate to Sodomize the US Military….those 8 GOP must be replaced at their next election dates, Brown, Murkowski, Kirk, Voinovich (he’s already replaced), Burr, Ensign, Collins and Snowe, making the vote 65 to 31.

www.frc.org has a press release 12/18 that I agree with…”Senate Putting Social Agenda Ahead of Military Mission”….”a tragic day for our armed forces. The American military exists for only one purpose–to fight and win wars. Yet it has now been hijacked and turned into a tool for imposing on the country a radical social agenda. ….it will only do harm to the military’s ability to fulfill its mission.” Q= how many volunteer service military will leave? and how far will the number of new recruits fall? to quote another news item…”As in the Days of Noah, Lot and Sodom and Gommorah…” (extremely, radical SINFUL) America now sinks deeper (IMO) into Official Sin that must be punished by the Holy God of the Bible; the USA’s “cup” is filling up—– sinful abortions, lowered standards of conduct, removal of public reminders about God and His Commandments….the mistreatment of Israel in our foreign relations…and the legalizing of sin after sin….

^ disgustedtaxpayer doesn’t believe in the U.S. Constitution. Those 8 “RINO”s stood up for that document on Saturday. But thank you for admitting what we already know: you can’t be a Republican and still care about the Constitution.

U.S. Soldiers are already allowed to engage in sodomy on their own time. Blow jobs or anal sex, regardless of the sex of the individual involved, are categorized as sodomy.

In the days of Lot and Sodom, the failure to treat guests properly and the hubris involved led directly to the destruction of the city. If you care so much about that, then we should have stricter rules regarding treatment of guests in the home and in our country, and we should also treat our poor better. There would also be rules to limit excess among our riches. Oh, but that doesn’t fit your narrative, so please do carry on with your scriptural cherry-picking.

Okay, kids… if tolerance toward LGBT is such an affront to God, why hasn’t Israel been wiped off the map? Why does Germany continue to prosper? Why hasn’t Belgium been turned to a collective pillar of salt?

Get a grip, Repubs! Does it make sense to turn away qualified personnel that WANT to serve in the military because they’re gay?

BTW, @Jade: Nice allusion to Ezekiel 16:49 - 52. Nice to see someone actually knows scriptures, here. ;-)

^ Hah hah, I see what you did there!

^^^ I get into debates with selective-scripture Bible bashers all of the time so … I’ve actually spent more time in my Bible than I had growing up.

I was raised Christian and I’m perfectly Okay with a person’s religious faith. What I’m not OKay with is the hypocritical cherry-picking involved in justifying one’s hatred.

The message of Scripture centers on the death and resurrection of Messiah (Jesus the Christ) and our need to trust in Him to make us regenerate people. I agree with Jade that we all tend to grab passages that seem to back up what we have already decided we believe. Judgment day will be full of surprises for all of us.
