Leave it on. It is cooling the air by converting thermal energy to kinetic energy. Energy that does work is expended, after all.

Must live in my area. Been kind of like that these last few weeks or so. If not for the almost daily storms in the evenings, it would have been deadly.

To belabor a cliche, it’s not the heat, it’s the humidity. In the case of the cartoon, the lack of it is the problem. Around here, it’s very hot, but the air is already saturated.

In six months the residents of Fargo will be able to throw a cup of boiling water into the air and it, too, will not hit the ground.

If it’s so hot outside, you won’t be even surviving even the duration of the sentence in your bubble. Now move your lazy butt and water the lawn.

That is the smoothest lawn I’ve ever seen, and I live in a gated community

Ha ha! When I first went to Phoenix in the early 70s I can imagine this happening – the max humidity was in the low teens. Twenty years later the humidity had rocketed to 30/40%. Due to the urbanization, pools and the CAP?

Don’t water in the daytime. Water early morning.
