I loved in Louisiana for 5 years. The mosquitoes were either small enough to go through a screen door or big enough to open one.

I don’t think data suppression or denial will stop this either:

    " …

The report’s findings aren’t particularly encouraging. According to CDC authorities, the incidence of diseases caused by mosquito, tick, and flea bites have tripled in the U.S. from 2004 to 2016, the period assessed in the report.

“Zika, West Nile, Lyme, and chikungunya — a growing list of diseases caused by the bite of an infected mosquito, tick, or flea — have confronted the U.S. in recent years, making a lot of people sick,” notes Dr. Robert Redfield, the current CDC director.

    …"

The Northeast had a cold snap that killed a bunch so hopefully better year. The headline may refer to the fact that 7 more diseases are now being carried by mosquitoes and ticks.

I’d say that’s a Minnesota mosquito, but it looks a little too small.

Marsh mosquitoes are big black things twice the size of your common mosquito and you can feel them land on you. Also called “Buffalo” because of their furry “hump” where the wing muscles are.

Bugs Bunny beat him to it by several decades: “My, what large mosquitoes they DO have around here!”

The bees are gone and mosquitoes are deadly. But at least the oil companies had a good quarter.

When I was in Vietnam, I would look up at a flare and say it was a mosquito with a flashlight.
