Unfortunately this attack shows that no matter what the government outlaws, people with mental illness will find a way to make their sick impact on the world. You want to stop these crazy attacks? Outlaw press coverage of mass murders. Is it just a coincident that school killing grew to monthly happenings after the Columbine school shootings? I don’t think so. A mentally deranged person in the past would commit suicide to end their pain, today they figure to go out in a blaze of publicity so someone will remember them. For terrorists their objective to mass publicity and the western media is more than happy to give it. You will never end the drug war killings, these are logical turf wars by individuals that see the drug trade as their best path to economic success. You may be able to end it by legalizing drugs.

The mentally unstable will always find a way to harm others especially if they want to go on a rampage. Perhaps the answer is not only to restrict weapons of mass destruction but also more comprehensive Mental Health Care. Even an old granny like me can figure out how to make bombs from the blueprints on the internet or buy AR-15s on the internet. The difference between being mentally unstable enough to go attacking other people or being just an old granny like me, who likes to get up on her soapbox. My words don’t kill anyone…. And unfortunately my desires for political reform doesn’t seem to be saving anyone either….. But I’ve been fighting for what’s right against what’s wrong in our systems, since I was a teenager,….. which was a long long long time ago ….. I still haven’t given up fighting for what’s right instead of complacently enduring what’s wrong. I can tell by the comments at gocomics that people who care about our society as a whole, don’t stop caring just because naysayers keep saying nothing can be done. If the negative posters in here, on this site, truly believe that anything can be turned into a weapon…. then perhaps they might want to get on the bandwagon for Better Mental Health Care. Although restricting weapons of mass destruction is there really a good step forward but so is better Healthcare, better mental health care. So is keeping an open attitude about how good diversity can be for our society here in the United States, rather than becoming so jingoistic that we fall behind the rest of the world in Social, scientific, and humanitarian progress.

You go SADANDCONFUSED9! You go girl! Been a long, long time since I was a teenager fighting the good fight. But I haven’t stopped. Worked 10 years in Mental Health. I use that training everyday. What I learned in little actions applies to the large and broader problems.

The main terrorist threat to Canada stems from violent extremists inspired by terrorist groups such as Daesh and al-Qaida. The Canadian police are questioning the man suspected of driving a rented van into pedestrians killing 10 and injuring 15. The man was briefly a member of the Canadian Armed Forces last year. Police are trying to determine why he plowed the van along a crowded sidewalk in Toronto, in what seemed a deliberate attack.
