Her attitude seems strange to me, as if going out of the house is something rarely done. Lots of people go out in the evening, maybe after dinner, or for dinner, or to meet friends, or a club meeting, or, or, whatever. Has Betty never been out before?

I think that it’s the idea of her going out without her husband. How many married women do that if they’re not cheating?
