Oh, Ted. It’s like you’re purposely trying make people mad by pointing out the Democratic side of the political double standard. You know darn well they don’t like to hear the truth.
Given all that I would still rather have the Democratic branch of The Money Party in charge while we try to make incremental changes in their policies. We can also work on loosening The Money Party’s death grip on power by trying to elect more members of parties such as the Working Families party which is making significant inroads at the local and state levels in the Northeast. We’ve got to start small and have patience. Maybe my children (9, 5 and 3) will see some real change.
My only edit would be that “Good” Obama wouldn’t ask for single payer (more like, actively squashed it), because too many Democrats were opposed to it. It only took a few, but from public statements, there were more than enough who actually didn’t want single payer.
Regarding Obama’s comment to the patient, shouldn’t cartoons exaggerate?
US drone attacks in Iraq and Syria shot up 50 percent while civilian deaths rose 215 percent from 2016 to 2017.
Meanwhile, there are signs that the drone war may be returning to Pakistan, where attacks were also up, compared with 2016. Strikes in Somalia since 2007 via the Bureau. In Yemen, 32 strikes hit within a month of the March declaration – almost as many as the whole of 2016.
Under Trump, U.S. Launched 8 Airstrikes Against ISIS in Libya.
Mar 8, 2018 – To be sure, the number of American airstrikes in Libya since Mr. Trump took office — carried out largely by armed MQ-9 Reaper drones flying from an air base in Sicily — is tiny in comparison to the number of strikes carried out against militants in Yemen (more than 130) or Somalia (more than 40).
You could always just stop voting for Tweedledum or Tweetledee. It doesn’t matter who you vote for or if they have a chance to “win”. Once their vote totals fall enough, they will change their policies or fade away. It’s not like parties have died before.
In the main, true. Not altogether, but mostly, true. What detached observers saw in Obama, Hillary and the neoliberal leadership of the Dems is why she lost to a totally unfit candidate. Neoliberal, Republican Lite is no more re-representative of the American people than the unfit thief in office.
There are bad people on both sides, this is just like equating neo-Nazis to students protesting the Nazis. Yes, Obama had some bad policies, he at least tried to help middle America.
OK Ted…here’s the setup…your wife’s been seeing someone on the side..would you prefer Obama or spanky trump? And why? I think she’s a great girl, don’t know why you don’t appreciate her.
You forgot to mention the part where Good Obama always acted like a decent human being with decorum, while evil El Douche acts like a total douche bag, erodes social norms and flagrantly denies even the most mundane aspects of reality!
There is no possible way to compare our current president with anyone who ever held the office. To pretend that Cheato Mussolini can be compared with anything normal just adds to the damaging delusions he propagates.
Ted Rall has gotten to an obvious but profound truth: Politicians should be judged by what they do, not what (or rather, how) they talk. Obama was likable and smooth. Trump is a bragging jerk. But whether lefty or righty, you have to judge by policy and results. Thanks, Ted!
