When I was a junior in high school, I went through the lunch line and there was a lady passing out cookies with cooked kidney beans in them rather than chocolate chip cookies. She said it was an experiment. Knowing what I do now, I’d say it was the result of one of the cooks dropping Acid (LSD). After all, Woodstock and the “Summer of Love” was only weeks away.

One thing I’ve never gotten around to is finding out if there’s such a thing as a good Salisbury steak. I associate it with frozen dinners and school cafeterias, but maybe there’s a made from scratch homemade version that isn’t bad.

I should NOT have read about Mrs. Angelini’s sandwich while I’m trying to lose weight.

Yeah Italian lunch ladies certainly would have been an improvement for sure.

Let’s not forget a proper budget for the school cafetaria.
