While not a universal truth, dog and puppies will not leave any tail-tale clean-up problems when being carried.

Thus developing a dependency that stunts pets’ ability to adapt to situations where owner is not present

I love the people who get little puppies & train them to be lap dogs and to be carried around, not realizing that the “little puppy” will grow into a full-sized, large-breed dog!

I think this is the beginning of a new species “The Furry Slug.” The former little yapper’s legs atrophied because they were never used.

I thought the whole point of going for a “walk” is for the dog to get some exercise?

Most people never realize that small dogs can be very fast. Mini Schnauzers are incredibly fast and can run at speeds of 20 mph. The average running speed of the Shih Tzu is 15.1 mph. Some small dogs are slower and bigger dogs faster. Start slowly and work them up. YOU do NOT need to carry your dog.
