The fossil fuels still in the ground constituted an energy reserve that would serve America well in an emergency.
Once those are gone, what will we use? Anything from overseas is vulnerable to embargo or destruction.
What will we use? Steam-powered vehicles? Some power source as envisioned in Star Trek? Wishful thinking? Wind and solar will help, but not enough to maintain the economy as we know it.
It’s not raining money on the EPA, it’s raining money on the few tycoons who control the oil industry. The rest of us are being slowly fried in oil. The only silver lining I see on this mess is that when the earths eco-system collapses ( Pretty soon, the way things are going ) and humans follow most other species into extinction the oil barons will be screwed along with the rest of us. Ha Ha.
I was reading an article about how it only takes four steps to take down a democracy and those four steps are the ones that Hitler followed to kill democracy in Germany in the 1920s and 30s. Didn’t someone say that Trump had a biography of Hitler that he reads every day or is it every night. Maybe that’s what his Twisted little mind is thinking about….. How to take down our democracy in 4 easy steps. Maybe he thinks he’s Hitler’s heir apparent to be dictator of this country the way Hitler was of Germany. There are too many similarities between what the article described and what is happening in this country under Trump’s tenure in the Oval Office right now. I guess I’ll have nightmares again tonight. They’ve been a pretty steady occurrence since January 2017.

They get the money, the rest of us get screwed. Teapot Dome really wasn’t even a drop in the bucket compared to this thievery.
