I’m hearing assorted reports that some of the manufacturer’s safety equipment was disabled on the vehicle as a stop-gap to deal with some software comparability issues. If so, then that’s a big issue for the company behind it all, not the tech itself.
16 skulls. One for every person killed by a self-driving car. Oh…wait. Maybe not. And a person stepping out in front of a car, in the dark, not in a crosswalk, and the driver not being able to stop in time is scenario that has happened many times in many places, to many good drivers.
