@MANSELL: At some point in our lives, we become responsible for our own decisions and can no longer point to “bad parenting” as a justification for our own ‘bad actions’. We have a POTUS right now whose every ‘bad act’ is written off as the logical result of having a father who he could never please. Really? How long can anyone ride that horse till it drops dead of exhaustion?
In that era “self esteem” was the buzzword and everything was chalked up to lack thereof, leading to the “you all get a trophy just for showing up” era. Check out Will Storr’s book “Selfie. How We Became So Self Obsessed and What It’s Doing to Us.”
