It’s been clear for a while that our president got to his position with Russian help. All his statements and actions after being elected are designed to help Russia’s position in the international stage while weakening the US and it’s western allies ( they make no sense otherwise ). Most of his appointees to top positions in the govt have strong ties to Russia. As more and more details of the collusion between Trumps inner circle and the Russian intelligence come out even the die hard Trump supporters will have to admit that their hero and leader is nothing more than an enemy spy and traitor. What is difficult to understand is why congress Republicans choose to cover up Trump’s crimes ? Surely he cannot possibly get away with what he did, why do they want to have their reputations tarnished and go down with him ?

Donald John Trump has never shown anything but contempt for the Rule of Law WHERE IT APPLIES to him. His baseline thought is sometimes interpreted as something along the lines of, “if I do it, it can’t be illegal!” And I would point out that this attitude was prevalent BEFORE he was elected President! I would simply point out that Donnie has ALWAYS believed that he was above the law because he was wealthy and the people trying to “pull him down” were not.Donnie, much like Leona Helmsley, seems to believe that the rules don’t apply to them. Remember that Leona was reported to have said, “We don’t pay taxes; only the little people pay taxes.”

Now, that idea, which she acted upon, neted her a jail sentence of 16 years, so the prevalent attitude of the rich DOES occasionally ‘backfire’ on them – but not nearly as often enough, in my opinion!

Of course, sometimes it’s just a result of a morally twisted mentality – remember Tricky Dick’s assertion that, “If the President does it, it can’t be illegal!” And Nixon wasn’t a wealthy man; just twisted!

The House “Intelligence” Committee is, or at least the Republican component of it, obviously not willing to even take the chance that they might eventually find something of substance in their investigation of the possible collusion of the Trump campaign and the Russian interference with our 2016 election. They’ve already declared “nothing to see here, folks”, folded up their tent, and stolen away into the night!

It’s rather like hiring a termite inspector who opens up your basement door, turns on the light glances downward ad then loudly declares, "No termites here, folks! and then leaves! Obviously, unless the investigation has the words Hillary and Benghazi and/or Democrat attached to it, Republicans aren’t REALLY interested in uncovering truth!

Nunes is driving, not Statham. He’ll hang up on a median strip.
