A quarterback completing a pass to himself has happened a few times. The pass is deflected by a defender and caught by the quarterback. There have been two of these that resulted in a touchdown in the NFL. The other quarterback that did it was Brad Johnson in 1997.
Except that unless the party has been registered in any document so someone from the future obsessed with Stephen Hawkings would read about it, nobody would show up.
If a future time traveler knew about the party, he would also know that no one showed up, and would not risk changing history. Unless, of course, he DID show, but explained to Hawking the possible dire consequences if he didn’t keep quiet about it.

My uncle Josiah Hughes was once in a Ripley’s cartoon. He scored a touchdown in the first game he witnessed. It was a New Bern, NC high school game.

It’s possible that time travelers did show up for the party, and time travel back further in time changed history so we’d never know about it.
