Sounds like my mother.

Except the one who love to complain don’t smile at all

The world is full of people that have nothing better to do than complain. They thrive on it. I’ve learned to avoid them as much as possible. I’ve also noticed that people that do complain often attract other complainers. They seem to feed off each others malcontent. I’m done complaining now.

Billy Crystal and Christopher Guest(?) on SNL had a great routine where they were two old grouchy men complaining how rough things used to be. It got wackier and wackier as they came up with new things during the season. One, I remember is being rolled up in a carpet with tacks.

We used to say: " Some people would even bitch, if they were hung with a new rope ! "

I’ve known some people to smile while their complaining because it makes them feel superior while they’re putting the other person down.

There’s an old joke, where a fellow dies and goes to heaven. He’s being shown around beyond the pearly gates, and they come upon a box. He asks, “What is this for?”

“Oh that? That’s a suggestion box.”

“A suggestion box? In heaven?! But why? What possible use—”

“Because some people aren’t happy unless they are complaining.”

There’s always the possibility his dentures are too big.
