Inner Sanctum, I believe. I discovered radio years ago and loved it. I have a nice collection of The Shadow, Nero Wolfe, Inner Sanctum, etc. Great to listen to.
Rumor has it that the announcer who introduced The Shadow had a little too much of the fermented beverage before coming to work….he got through the script about who knows what evil lurks in the heart of man…..“the Shadow do”….
