Trees sleep when Mimi sleeps, Corky. Wasn’t that obvious to you?

Trees sleep during winter. That is when they rest and pull up an insulating blanket of snow and sleep till the spring sun comes up. And after that long sleep. They stay up for months and just grow and grow, (and producing lots and lots of oxygen too),

We are wondering about the replanting of roses. My daughters & I each received a rose at my mother’s funeral last Thursday. Here it is, over a week later, and the roses are still doing well in water and actually growing new leaves! We find it interesting because I do NOT have a “green thumb” but my mother certainly did.

There’s very specific directions on the Internet as to how to work with a cut stem rose. It would be a good learning experience for the family. You probably have a good chance.

The grass whisper the night time stories to the baby tree. You don’t need to worry.

Your mother had nothing to do with the rose’s continued activity. It’s called nature.

I wonder how many fathers would do what Corky is doing? That is a very loving thing to do for a child.

For a time, I told my dog bedtime stories. Well, it was the same story each time, though, which I read from a book, On the Day You Were Born, by Debra Frasier. My dog, a sweet old girl in her teens, had watched me reading bedtime stories to the grandkids, and seemed to want some quiet time before settling down. It seemed to work.

I am always amazed at how well they reproduce a toddler’s speech. If a Mimi was standing here beside me, she’d sound just like that.
