There was no canine Rx available for antidepressants, so he acted outside of reality.

Dooon’t think marijuana would work that way. Ritalin, maybe.

Definitely an off-label use. On a sadder note, a man was arrested for animal abuse. He videoed himself forcing a goat to ingest cocaine and booze.

Comic would be more believable if the dog was instead sitting on the sofa with headphones, playing “Dead”.

This happened on an episode of ‘The Incredible Dr. Pol.’ I forget how it was handled but it may have involved munchies.

Dogs aren’t humans and THC may operate differently in a dog’s physiology.

They’re working on cannabis for animals and finding success for treating several veterinary conditions, especially,as with people, picking the right balance of THC/PCB levels in the strains used is important..

As for humans and the ‘toon, this misnomer is “public domain”. Medical use of cannabis is NOT to get high, just “normal”. Cannabis for my PTSD is MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE than ativan or other “anti-anxiety” pharmaceuticals, and Valium (the other favored benzodiazepine) is “death warmed over”. Cannabis relaxes at lower levels, much lower in fact, than what “recreational” users consume, and a high isn’t the objective. Higher CBD also relieves muscle spasms and pain from several conditions I have that only add to the stress problem of PTSD.

Backwards! Clearly the cartoonist is misinformed on the effects of marijuana.
